The budget calculator adds pay and tax to these lines and shows what is left each month.
How this is worked out
Thirteen lines in three groups. Housing is rent or mortgage, utilities, phone and internet, and home insurance. Transport is the car payment, fuel, auto insurance and transit. Lifestyle is groceries, dining out, entertainment, healthcare and everything else.
Annual is the monthly total times twelve. Daily is the annual figure over 365, not the monthly figure over 30, so a short month does not flatter it.
Enter what you actually spend, from a bank statement rather than memory. Most people underestimate dining, subscriptions and fuel, and overestimate groceries.
