Squad Card for people who already pool money with friends and family

Your circle already works. Squad Card is the credit line built for it.

A tanda in Los Angeles, a susu in Brooklyn, a kye in Koreatown, a chit fund back home: rotating savings circles are the oldest credit system there is, and banks have never known how to read them. Squad Card is designed to give a circle one shared line, a private lane per member, and a record a bank can understand.

Why circles never showed up on a credit file
The options people use now, and where each one breaks.
  • Cash changes hands in person; nothing is reported to a bureau.
  • The organizer carries all the risk and gets none of the credit.
  • When a member needs a bank, the years of perfect circle payments count for nothing.
How Squad Card is designed to work
One shared line. A private lane per member. A reserve released by vote.
  1. 1
Bring the circleUp to four members per squad. Each confirms their email, checks their Experian score free, and connects a bank if they want income to count. Bigger circles form more than one squad.
  2. 2
One line, private lanesThe squad is assessed as a group. Each member spends in their own lane and is responsible for it. The shared reserve works the way the pot always did: released by agreement.
  3. 3
Trust becomes a recordOn-time lanes, covered payments and reserve votes are designed to build a history each member owns.

Questions people ask

Does Squad Card replace our circle?

It does not have to. Many members will keep the circle for savings and use the squad for credit. What the squad adds is a record and a line the circle never had.

Do all four members need a Social Security number?

Checking a credit file with the bureau requires the details a bureau uses to find it. Members who cannot be found on a file can still hold a seat on the waitlist; how such members are assessed at launch will be published with the program terms.

Can a circle of ten join?

A squad holds four seats. A circle of ten forms three squads, and members can invite the rest through their own links.

Is Squad Card available now?

Not yet. Squad Card is on a waitlist while we finish the program with our issuing bank partner. Joining the waitlist saves your seat, lets you form your squad, and gives you a free Experian score and report while you wait.

Does joining the waitlist affect my credit?

No. Joining takes a first name and an email. If you choose to check your free Experian score, that is a soft inquiry you initiate yourself; it never appears to lenders and does not change your score.

What does it cost?

The waitlist and the free Experian score cost nothing and require no card. Card pricing, credit lines and terms will be published when the program launches and depend on approval by the issuing bank.
