Build credit as a couple without signing up for each other's debt.
Most couples run their money together and their credit apart, because the only shared option is a joint card that makes each of you responsible for all of it. Squad Card is designed to give you one line, two lanes, and a reserve for the things you plan together.
Free. No card needed, and joining never touches your credit. Early access is open; your squad saves your seat.
- A joint account makes each partner fully liable for the entire balance, whatever the other one spends.
- Adding a partner as an authorized user gives them spending power but no responsibility and, at many issuers, uneven credit reporting.
- Separate cards mean separate limits, separate rewards, and no way to pool strength for a bigger purchase.
- 1Two lanes, one lineEach partner gets a private lane with its own limit, statement and responsibility. The reserve is the part you both agree on: the trip, the deposit, the move.
- 2Assessed togetherYour files are looked at together. A strong history on one side and a steady income on the other add up to more than either of you would get alone.
- 3Room for two moreA squad holds four seats. Bring a sibling, a parent or a close friend if you want; nobody joins your liability, they join your squad.
| Squad Card | A joint credit card | |
|---|---|---|
| Liability | Each partner for their own lane | Both partners for the full balance |
| If you separate | Lanes are frozen and settled individually | Both stay liable until the account is paid and closed |
| Reporting | Designed to report per lane | The whole account reports on both files |

Questions people ask
Is Squad Card a joint account?
No. It is designed as one shared line with several, not joint, liability: each member is responsible for their own lane. The shared reserve is only used when members vote to use it, and each approver takes a capped share.
Can my partner see my spending?
Members see the squad's health and the reserve. Each lane's transactions belong to its owner. What is shared is designed to be the minimum the group needs to trust each other.
We are not married. Does that matter?
No. Squad Card is for any two to four adults who trust each other.
Is Squad Card available now?
Not yet. Squad Card is on a waitlist while we finish the program with our issuing bank partner. Joining the waitlist saves your seat, lets you form your squad, and gives you a free Experian score and report while you wait.
Does joining the waitlist affect my credit?
No. Joining takes a first name and an email. If you choose to check your free Experian score, that is a soft inquiry you initiate yourself; it never appears to lenders and does not change your score.
What does it cost?
The waitlist and the free Experian score cost nothing and require no card. Card pricing, credit lines and terms will be published when the program launches and depend on approval by the issuing bank.
