The Delta SkyMiles® Platinum Business American Express Card is the middle tier of Delta's business line. This review looks at the 1.5X large-purchase category, the companion certificate and the MQD Headstart, and whether they justify $350 for a company without lounge needs.
How You Earn
Delta and hotel spend earn 3X, a business-flavoured 1.5X tier covers transit, shipping and large purchases, and MQDs accrue on everything.
- 3X miles on purchases made directly with Delta and at hotels
- 1.5X miles on transit including taxis and rideshare, at U.S. shipping providers, and on single purchases of $5,000 or more
- The 1.5X categories are capped at $100,000 in combined purchases per year, then earn 1X
- 1X miles on all other eligible purchases
- $1 MQD for every $20 spent, plus the $2,500 MQD Headstart
